The MiniLab E100 is a compact, low-cost, multi-function electronic instrument tailored for education, specifically for the burgeoning distance-learning market. The E100 is a single instrument that combines a high-performance oscilloscope, function generator, and digital multimeter. The unit is connected to a PC which displays the measured data using Applied Circuit’s novel eBench software.

Designed in consultation with educators, the E100 is tailored for education, especially for the burgeoning distance-learning market. Historically, distance-learning programs in electronics have been almost non-existent because the proper tools were not available. Now, the E100 opens up tremendous opportunities for educating engineers.

The MiniLab E100 combines a 100 MHz, 250 Ms/s oscilloscope, a 5 MHz function generator, and a digital multimeter in a device with a footprint the size of a CD. Cost savings are achieved by linking the MiniLab E100 to a PC via USB and using the PC to display the data via Applied Circuits’ eBench software.

The eBench user interface mimics standard electronics instruments to train students for work in real-world labs. The MiniLab E100 also includes features to facilitate data analysis. Waveforms can be captured and saved, and the data can be exported from the eBench software to spreadsheets, custom software applications, or LabView.
